Benny Spiewak, Senior Associate, KLA Brazil

Benny Spiewak is a Senior Associate, head of the Intellectual Property & Innovation practice group at KLA. He is focused in advocacy, legal and regulatory matters affecting the creative and innovative industries, including those engaged in the businesses of entertainment, media and broadcasting, bioscience, biotechnology, chemical, food, Information and Communication Technology, drug and nanotechnology. Benny graduated (LLB) at the University Mackenzie's Law School in Sao Paulo, Brazil and obtained the degree of Masters at Intellectual Property Law (LL.M) at The George Washington University, in Washington, DC. Benny obtained expertise certification in Intellectual Property & Technology Law by the Franklin Pierce Law Center, in Concord, New Hampshire and by the Getulio Vargas Foundation's Law School. In 2009 he was a legal assistant at the Intellectual Property Office at BIO - Biotechnology Industry Organization in Washington DC, and in 2002 he was the Brazilian representative at the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He is the coordinator of the International Affairs Committee at the Brazilian Intellectual Property, as well as member of American Intellectual Property Association, International Trademark Association, License Executive Society, Food & Drug Law Institute and the Drug Information Association.

Henrique Lopes, Senior Partner, KLA Brazil

Henrique Lopes is a Senior Partner, head of the Tax and Customs practice group at KLA. He is focused in addressing tax, customs matters of both Brazilian and foreign clients. Henrique graduated (LLB) at the São Paulo's University Law School and obtained the degree of Masters of Comparative Jurisprudence (MCJ) at The New York University, in New York. Henrique obtained expertise certification in State Law by the São Paulo's University Law School. Before joining KLA, Henrique worked at Brazilian firms Demarest & Almeida, in Sao Paulo and Clifford Chance, in New York.
