Prof. Asher Tishler Asher Tishler received his B.A. in Economics and Statistics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been affiliated with the Faculty of Management at Tel Aviv University since 1976. Prior to taking up his present position as Dean of the Faculty of Management in October 2007, he served as academic director of the Executive MBA Program and the Kellogg-Recanati International Executive MBA Program (2000-2003), academic director of LAHAV – Executive Education (1995-1998), director of the Israel Institute of Business Research (1991-1994), and head of the Economics-Management Program (1986-1988). Currently he is also director of two of the Faculty’s teaching and research facilities: the BRM Institute of Technology and Society, and the Eli Hurvitz Institute of Strategic Management. Professor Tishler’s areas of teaching are macroeconomics, managerial economics, and advanced statistical methods for operations research and business. He has been consultant to Israel’s Ministry of Defense, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Israel Electric Corporation, and Israel’s Ministry of National Infrastructures, as well as several firms in Israel and abroad. His main research interests are applied microeconomics, models of research and development, multivariate statistics, energy economics, and defense-related issues. His work has been published in the Journal of Econometrics, Research Policy, The Energy Journal, Defence and Peace Economics, The Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, the European Economic Review, Energy Policy, Operations Research, and other leading journals. |
